WebCam Installation

Please refer to the manufacturers instructions for the procedure of installing your webcam.

After you have your webcam working on your computer please proceed to the next step to install Microsoft Silverlight.

Microsoft Silverlight Plug-in Installation

Microsoft Silverlight is an application framework for writing and running rich Internet applications.

In our case it is needed for the webcam to 'talk' to ClubReady.

ClubReady will automatically prompt you to install Microsoft Silverlight the first time you attempt to use a webcam.

When opening the Edit ID Photo - Webcam Capture page for the first time you will see a blue popup asking you to "Click now to install"

Please click where is says Click now to install.

You will then be prompted to Run or Save Silverlight.exe (5.99 MB) from silverlight.dlservice.microsoft.com? - click Run

Next will be an Install Silverlight  prompt - click Install Now

Next you will receive a message informing of a successful installation - click Close and refresh your page.

The first time you attempt to use the webcam after Silverlight is installed you will get another prompt at the top of the page asking Do you want to allow camera and microphone access?

It is very important to click the check-box asking to Remember my answer before clicking Yes

Your browser is now configured to allow webcam access! Please proceed for more information about the mechanics of webcam operation.

By default the webcam module if OFF and you will need to click Start Camera to turn on the webcam.

After clicking on Start Camera you will be shown a live feed of the camera - you will want to have your subject rather close to the camera with their face filling up the frame to get the best shot of their face.

When ready, click the TAKE PHOTO button.

A snapshot will be temporarily saved under the CHOOSE section.  Multiple pictures can be taken until you are satisfied with the results. With your mouse cursor, click on the best photo you want to use and click it.

There will be a blue highlight box around the one you have chosen.

Click the SELECT button and the photo will be saved to the subject's profile. You will see a preview of the final photo.
